It did terrible so far. Course I am using their own expectations of 5 million before January 1st, which seems unreachable. I will know for sure if their goals are a failure when initial hardware sales come in with the 360 console. If it doesn't bump up the 360 sales by a large margin, than failure is innevitable. I am a realist, people try to make Kinect seem better no matter what. At least Sony didn't dig their own grave with their predictions..

Don't get me wrong, shy of 500K is good number, but no where near that of what Minect needed to get to 5 million by the time frame THEY said they will reach. Unless they release great games we don't know about yet, they will fall flat. America is their strong point and sales in Europe will be about 60-70% of what North America does. So lets say they have 700,000 units sold right now. Can say with confidence that by the end of November they will have about 1.5 million units sold. I can see them reaching 3 million with a Holiday boost, but 5 million seems insane. One thing that is proven is that actual interest in Kinect is lower than thought by gaming analysts.

I hate to be the "hater" but the number just don't add up with the trends, even with Black Friday and Christmas coming up. When 360 sales numbers come in, I believe it will show that 80-90% of the people who bought Kinect at launch have a 360 already. So I am predicting the first push will bump 360 sales by 80-140K worldwide. But I wouldn't be shocked if it was around 40-60K either.

I was about to say, fair point, you're allowed your opinion, and it's not easy to predict the next few weeks sales but then I saw this in another thread "As much as I would love that thought as a HUGE PlayStation fan"

It's painfully obvious this is all wishful thinking on your part, and you can hate all you like, I honestly don't think 360 fans here care anymore .. all I'll say is if these estimates are correct (500k 3 days in NA) then that IS very impressive (Terrible? really?) and it'll hit 2 - 2.5 million by the end of November thanks to Black Friday.
