Difference is I am not arguing perceived value I am arguing what the consumer is actually doing. We no most people do pickup a 2nd controller. Week after week after week WiiFit sales are just about 1/2 of Wii sales. This shows us that the purchase of the Wii is typically not just picking up the $200 console and heading to the checkout. Kinect 4GB 360 is setup for you to walk out the door at $300 and being able to play multiplayer games without any additional cost and $350 with a fitness title. |
But you're missing the point ...
You're assuming someone will see Kinect at $300 or $360 as being equal to a Wii with an additional controller and/or Wii Fit (at $240 to $350) where this may not be the case.
If you look at the purchase of systems from the perspective of a 24 year old woman and then from a 40 year old man buying for his family of 5 they both might include Wii Fit but their total purchase may be drastically different.
