Its cheaper than most iPods, smart phones, and many other gadget yet I see plenty of people walking around with high priced devices. Lets not forget how much people waste on other useless crap.

lol yes because that's the only reason I listed, between price, room size, and games is what makes it not great for a mass market, it's not like Guitar Hero sold any better by getting more expensive if you want to bring price into things.

Plus if we are to believe the online gamers and websites then just about all Xbox gamers are core gamers as is, so its only a 150 dollars investment for them, for the casual gamers that went for the Wii that's a 300 dollar investment starting out, or the average joe could save 100 dollars and buy a Wii which is popular, his friends have, has games, and doesn't require a lot of space to use.

I don't understand your Guitar Hero anology. But if you elaborated I can tell you why its stupid.

What exactly is a core gamer exactly? Someone who doesn't like Wii games? What about people who just play a few game like Halo and CoD? Are they core even if they don't have interest in many game?

People could just get a Wii and save money, but it also depends on what people want to play or experience they are looking for. The Kinect seems great on its own and when people are done with motion games. They can also delve into the the 360's wonderful library that uses a thing called a joystick. Hence, its not like $300 just gets you a machine that plays Kinect games.
