Yeah, but gamers had already buried the sales needle on Nintendo consoles, and as it turned out, it stayed buried the entire year. Another game, even if it's SSBB, would have made no difference, especially coming out weeks after the super goodness of SMG. It'll serve Nintendo better with it's new release date, which will likely sustain the super-high demand another month or two.

I think there were 3 fundamentally unpredictable occurances after this thread first died:

1) Wiifever never died. Who would have expected it to carry on over 13 months (and likely over 15)?

2) Sony cut prices twice and scrapped the two existing models for two new ones.

3) Microsoft got shamed into the 3 year warantee extension, which precluded the widely anticipated price cut to $299.
