But if something is collecting dust, you're supposed to just leave it there and whine about it in forums and blog comments!
But seriously, that's a smart move, since developing a full game from scratch would likely take up more resources (time, money, manpower, etc.) than they could afford.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
