How do you reach the Platinum (even Gold) status?

You have to register enough games/systems on Club Nintendo to collect 300 coins to achieve Gold status, and 600 coins to achieve Platinum. To get an idea of how much that takes, Wii games are 50 coins apiece, DS games are 30 coins, and WiiWare games are 10.

So intially I achieved Gold Status, but after spending some stars I have dipped to 2500. Is it different in the UK?

Yes the UK has their own system. Here in North America Club Nintendo works on the coin system. I'm not too familiar with the UK system. But it won't matter if you spend some coins (At least not in NA) its based on how many points you earn in a year.

So If you earn 600 coins in a single year you reach Platinum status. Once at Platinum you are elligable for Nintendo's yearly gift which is given to both Platinum and Gold members. Platinum usually gets something good (This year statue , last year MarioCap) while Gold usually gets calendars.

As a Nintendo consumer its actually fairly easy to get Platinum status, I had no idea I bought so many Nintendo products till Club Nintendo came along!
