I think seeing Vader/Palpatine gazing out of the star ship at the "under construction" Death Star was more effective and chilling.
they should've shown Obi-Wan giving Luke to those guys on Tatooine before showing Vader and the Emperor staring at the Death Star....that should've been the end.
