Wow, that list was hilarious! This bloke should get a prize!

Anyway, let's look at the list of reasons he gives:

5. ) A New Battle System

It's the best because it's new? Great!

Guys, I have an idea! Let's have a game where you fight battles by farting to the beat of the battle music! That would be really innovative! It's so new that it would be the best game evar!

Of course, that wasn't the only reason he gave as to why the battle system is better. He also said it's better because he doesn't have to think about what each fighter is doing. Well, whether that's better depends on the player. I prefer to control all of my characters, but having read his article, I can see he's the kind of person who'd benefit from having the game think for him.

4.) No Towns - No Overhead Map

This is the holy grail of fanboyism, something that is usually limited to Macfags. To be the ultimate fanboy, you have to argue that taking away an integral part of something is an improvement.

I'd like to see what would happen if someone from Squeenix cut off this bloke's genitals with a (very!) miniature guillotine. He'd probably say:

"Wow, this is great! My groin looks so streamlined without those things there! And I don't have to worry about pregnancy or STDs! Sure, I can't have sex anymore and I'll become weaker, but that doesn't matter. I never got laid anyway and I work in an office, so it's fine. Great move, Squeenix!"

3.) No Waiting for the Story

I notice that he only mentions a few games here. I thought this was a list of why it was the best game in the series. I also notice that he leaves out the fact that starting with little sequences only partially related to the main story is something found in most great works of literature and most great games. You get a bit of time to get used to the characters, the controls and the world around you instead of being thrown into the deep end not knowing what the hell is going on.

2.)Sazh

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

1.) Multi-platform Sales

That has nothing to do with anything. Obviously running short on ideas.

I can't wait to read his article on why FF14 is the best MMO in history. It'll be a hoot!

No, but seriously, I wonder how much Squeenix paid that bloke to write this. I'm sure I could do that job.
