It's mainly because of Japan and EMEAA. The PS3 will have a 10m lead on the 360 in Japan. In EMEAA, although Xbox got a redesign and Halo Reach, it is currently being outsold by the PS3 still, and the megaton named Gran Turismo has yet to rear its head. The PS3 is ahead of the 360 in EMEAA already and will likely stay that way forever barring the effects price drops may have.
The combo of EMEAA and Japan will supercede the 360's American lead.
