1. You really think the game doesn't have detractors?
2. Even if it is, the story is still bad, and being integrated into the game does detract from the game when you know how bad it is. And I've seen even before this game that too many gamers and developers don't really know about proper storytelling. Any casual mystery story fan can see this is loaded with holes and bad writing.
3. User scores are not the entire opinion of this site. That does mean some appreciate it, but not everyone.

1. If you mean the defintion, then there are plenty of dictionary sites, if you don't have a pysical one handy.
2. I've stated at least some reasons why, and I alsy stated that most games have bad stories. This game's story is not good.
3. If you like it for the story, then whatever. But that still doesn't make it good. I might even question how familiar you are with mystery stories, whether it's a TV cop/detective show or the classic mystery novels. Even the most trite and manipulative Law and Order SVU episode is better than this.

I just don't understand your point. What is good about Heavy Rain then in your opinion? Why do you think people loved the game? I'm not the only who liked the story. It was praised for it's story.
You are in the minority if you disliked the story. That is if you've played the game.
And Heavy Rain's plot is much more than a simple mystery story. It involves great characters, emotional events and a dramatic premise.
There's so much more to Heavy Rain than meets the eyes.
