Monster Hunter less so, because the ones with local multiplayer are the really compelling ones in Japan. The console game was big, but not in the same league as Dragon Quest
I'm not saying it will definitely stay on Wii, but i am saying that their decision to move it will in no way be predicated upon the Wii's appeal, because this is a definite killer app that overrides a console's appeal itself.
The question is how much of the game has actually been developed that they're just not telling us about. Is it at a point where it still could move to another platform or not?
