On another note the reason Dragon Quest IX took 4 years to develop is becaue they had to completely change the gameplay mid way through development or else it would have been released a lot sooner. |
DQIX changed it's game design (from ARPG to RPG) just six months after it started. It did get hit with several delays though, it was planned to launch in spring 2008 originally.
