I simply don't think it's Nintendo's fault , EA doesn't have one title that can pass 5M on any system , even rockstar's newwst title Red dead redemption has outsold big name titles like battlefield Bad Co 2 and I think Medal of honor (It's still selling though)
Consoles are out there U as a publisher monitor their progress , I don't want EA to release same titles for WII because 360 & PS3 are HD , but after more than 4 years they should Know by now how to make A WII hit (already there was one with active sport)
All other 3rd party CO are backing up and afraid when U are talking about WII , they don't understand Nintendo's magic formula that won them this generations home consol
On ds it's differnat , most of Japan big publishers have hits (It's the best seller in Japan by far) in the US it's also doing good but there was no western big names for it , Western publishers preffer to deal with HD consols I am afraid .
