They need to improve the content and drop prices on VC games.

I never really understand these complaints about VC pricing as I think they are fantastic value to money, compared to buying the game physically.  See Ogre Battle 64, the cheapest one on ebay UK is £31.45 ($51.54), compared to 1200 points or £8.40 ($13.50) on the VC.

Even for none import games, the VC is amazing value for money, I was going to use the original Zelda as an example, but on Ebay UK the cheapest one was £99 ($159.11) - seriously check it yourself as the link has pluses in it, while the VC one is £3.75 ($6.03).  What about the original Metroid?  £18.00 ($28.93) including postage, while again it's only £3.75 ($6.03) on the VC.

I really don't understand why people think the prices should come down when the originals are so damn expensive to buy themselves.

Well I'm checking Amazon and eBay and all the games you mentioned are going for a lot cheaper. Zelda is $7, Metroid is under $7, etc. Also, I get the advantage of having a physical copy to collect or resell if I please.

Ultimately, I don't wanna pay more than $5 for a digital copy of 16 bit game. Especially considering its just emulation with no added features. If I just want straight emulation, PC is a better option (which is legal if you own a physical copy).

I'm not complaining about N64 games being $10. I think that's fair.

Games tend be cheaper in NA than other places, that's probably some of it.  As well as that NES and SNES games are rarer in Europe as they were much less popular and outsold by the Master System and Mega Drive (aka the Genesis in the US) respectively. For example on Ebay UK, these are the only 2 original NES Zeldas for sale, and just look at the price they are going for.

As for Metroid, the only three available are:

    £29.99 £2.00 Time left:24d 0h 46m

    0 Bids £15.00 £3.00 Time left:1d 9h 5m

  £16.95 Free

I guess if NES and SNES are that much cheaper in NA, the VC can seem quite overpriced.  Although here in Europe, the VC is the cheapest way of getting these games and that is what my original post was based on.  So basically, the VC's universal pricing (with the exception of imports) seems better value in countries where retro games are more expensive and I guess I should think of that in future.
