Microsoft’s ‘Fable III’ (128,895) begins life at the top of the All Formats Chart this week, deposing ‘Fallout: New Vegas’ (69,613 / -55%), which slips to No3. The highly anticipated sequel from UK developer Lionhead Studios outsells the launch week of ‘Fable II’ by around 6,000 units making it the 13th biggest Xbox 360 launch ever and the 4th biggest Xbox 360 launch of 2010. It is Microsoft’s 3rd All Formats No1 so far in 2010 (after Crackdown 2 and Halo: Reach). There was only 1 Microsoft title last year that reached No1 in the All Formats Chart (Halo 3: ODST). ‘FIFA 11’ (75,703 / 10%) rises one place to No2, while Ubisoft’s ‘Just Dance 2’ (58,375 / 2%) also manages to climb one place, up to No4. The next highest new entry is ‘Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II’ (56,064) at No5. The original title debuted at No1 back in W38 2008. EA’s ‘Medal of Honor’ (48,650 / -53%) falls 4 places to No6, ahead of this weeks 3rd highest new entry ‘WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2011’ (47,785), new at No7. Nintendo’s highest charting game remains ‘Professor Layton and the Lost Future’ (45,470 / -23%) despite a drop of 4 places to No8, while EA can now claim 3 Top 10 titles as the release of ‘The Sims 3’ (28,624 / 999%) on next-gen formats propels it back into the chart at No9. Konami’s ‘Pro Evolution Soccer 2011’ (26,732) holds on to its position on the Top 10, down one place to No10, helped by a healthy 93% increase in sales. The Sims is also at No15 this week thanks to the release of PC expansion ‘The Sims 3: Late Night’ (13,139). There are also new entries for EA’s ‘Rock Band 3’ (7,386) at No26 and ‘The X-Factor’ (4,335) from Deep Silver/Koch at No37.

Week 42;

Bethesda’s ‘Fallout: New Vegas’ is the new No1 (154,076), comfortably beating Bethesda’s previous record holder ‘Fallout 3’ which debuted at No1 in week 44, 2008 (up 29% units over the previous title). EA’s reboot of ‘Medal of Honor’ (102,874 / -48%) drops down to No2 and EA’s ‘FIFA 11’ also drops one place to No3 (68,812 / -30%). The next new entry this week is Nintendo’s DS ‘Professor Layton and the Lost Future’ at No4 (59,348), followed at No5 by Ubisoft’s ‘Just Dance 2’ (57,245 / 39%). Also new this week is Sega’s ‘Vanquish’ at No12 (10,003), EA’s ‘EA Sports MMA’ at No23 (4,772) and Activision Blizzard’s ‘DJ Hero 2’ at No25 (4,352).
