Enslaved doing pretty good on both consoles.

Well, I have finished Enslaved and it was an awesome game, from beginning to end.  As you say, the third week shows me that it will become an unknown gem.  I think that it gets to me for two reasons.  First, it makes me realize that my kind of games are NOT mainstream and will probably not get a sequel.  Second, character interactions, graphics and style are often overlooked for generic FPS.  I realize now that I am an old man in a world of young gamers.

Ha, it's not that you're an old man, you're just not one of the self proclaimed hardcore gamers. I remember picking up Little King's Story on the Wii, amazing game and very challenging. I loved it. The sad thing is the self proclaimed hardcore aren't interested in a game unless it fits their idea of being 'mature' - which usually invovles the game being a shooter. That's why games like MoH are medicore and really show very innovation or imagination but still sell very well.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy shooters a lot, but I also love a wide range of games. The difference is I would rather play a great platform or puzzle game than a medicore shooter!

Yes, you make me feel somewhat younger!!!  And you are right again, I am not a hardcore gamer and I don't want to be one.  I mean, why so many average FPS on the market?  I have started playing Bioshock, and it is a phenomenal FPS.   But I understand, most shooters will get good sales because the mainstream crowd loves it and you can go online.  Again,I am not that kind of player. 

I like to take my time.  After finishing Enslaved, I got into Bioshock and Fallout 3.  In both, I can take my sweet time, exploring and discovering sites that are amazing.  Super atmospheres in both games.

At the same time, Halo Reach is selling millions.  And Enslaved...my game of the year...Sigh!
