Unless VGC gets a really good handle on Kinect's influence on 360 sales then we could expect similar adjustments in the new year for 360, one MS shipment reports for Oct-Dec come in.
Having a new device come on the seen can really screw with the algorithms used to estimate sales. Obviously Move has done that. Also in the very hard to track markets the cumulative error obviously builds up substantially over 2 years.
What's happened with PS3 in the last 24 hours is no big deal from a data accuracy perspective. VGC data for PS3 has gone from having a 3% lifetime error to probably having no more than a 0.5% lifetime error. For a sales estimating site a 3% life time error is pretty damned good. Anyone who thinks VGC has dropped the ball with PS3 data doesn't understand the first thing about this site.
I'm just miffed that we missed having the big 40 million celebration on the week it actually cracked 40 million. Still celebrating a week late is still pretty sweet. Pretty good result for a console that wasn't meant to sell more than 10 million LTD aye?
I think a generation when all consoles sell well makes for a strong and successful generation, and good times for everyone.
