Sure it was pricey, but it had EVERYTHING you could technologically do at the time. Hardware rotation, scaling, shitload of spites on screen and more sound memory per cartrige than some Snes and genesis were in size.

Neo geo console adjusted for 2010 would be able to do games like Uncharted 2 in 1080p in 3D at the same time...and it would cost 1000 dollars.

Conicidentaly, it is one of the very few home consoles, available in North America what I've never owned. Its a shame they didn't make the CD-Rom unit faster as it had potential to do well.

The NEOGEO CDZ has about the same load times as PS1 absd Saturn from what I know.

Nah...both neo geo CD models had 1X CD-ROM drive, including CDZ. The CDZ however had a larger amount of cache (ram) where it could store the CD Data and start loading before you finished playing the level, hence it seemed a bit faster.

The first model came out in 1994, which is whn they could have got a little marketshare...but by the time CDZ came out in 1995, PS1 and saturn were already available everywhere and it was too late.

late 94 at that, plus the neo geo cd had something like 7 MB of ram, filling up that much at 1x speed is nobodies friend 

anyway, yep I've got my Homecart system which I've modded out front and center next to my nes, genesis, and sns and it is awesome, my little sister and I always play a few rounds of matrimelee (she cheats and uses princess sissy) or run through sengoku 3 (shame this game is stupidly rare as it is a great beat em up) with an occasional aero fighters , she always plays as spanky

anyway the neo geo is my 5th favorite console and king of fighters 96,98,2k and samurai shodown 2 and 4 are second to none in the fighting game department, metal slug can only be touched by the best contras and baseball stars 2 is the only baseball game
