Also, the invention of LCD TVs helped HD adoption immensely. If we were stuck with the old glass tube technology, I bet HD wouldn't have been nearly as successful.
Likewise in order for 3d to be successful, I believe that a different technology without glasses will be needed for it to be a mainstream technology like HD.
Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
