I agree that the position when compared to other positions says nothing, but the fact that it is not out of stock in Amazon nor is it rising any further in the ranks (it has been showing for hours with a red down arrow) supports the possibility that there is no general "out of stock" situation. If there were, it should have either been out of stock in Amazon as well or on the way up due to people finding it only at Amazon. That said, there could be some stores where it is out of stock.

Well going out of stock is dependent upon allocation of resources combined with volume. So by something going out of stock it doesnt necessarily mean its selling like gangbusters. But i find it very fathomable that retail chains with their overhead and slimmer margins would perhaps order less. And from what ive gathered based on JP amazon it is even more skewed in terms of its top lists to B&M sales than in other places. So in summery its pretty much just completely irrelavent.
