yea but the problem with that is that GL already allowed other people to catalog their adventures in books etc, and he doesn't want to go out and whitewash over that work. And the other option of making movies based on other people's work, I don't think that is really what GL would wan't to do he would probably much prefer to Wright his own narrative. Besides I think being tied to existing characters and events was one of the problems with ep 1-3.
Having said that movie adaptations of the novels set after ep6 would be interesting.
