Sony cut the price of its flagship PlayStation 2 console game system in the U.S. down to US$199, from $299. As well, the PlayStation 1 got chopped from $99 to $49. In addition, accessory prices on PlayStation 2 and the original PlayStation were also reduced.Sony's price cuts come just days before Microsoft was expected to announce its own round of price cuts before the upcoming E3 gaming convention next week.
Yeah, they cut their prices to compete with Microsoft's price drop. Microsoft could easily do the same thing to Sony. I definitely see it happening.
