How is this worse? Players that buy the game new (even if they wait until it's bargain bin price) pay no extra. Only people who buy it used are affected... And they aren't even technically customers of EA (only of gamestop, since EA currently gets nothing from used sales)

I still hate how they're limiting our options. There really aren't that many industries that try to limit our ability to buy used products. Gaming industry is exceptionally greedy.

I can see why they're doing this but I can't accept this. I'm a consumer and I like to think like one. Also, I can't afford to buy 60€ games considering how much more I would have to pay to get the full experience. No, I will buy used all but the best of games. Luckily Gamestop and such won't get my money either. Like so many (but still too few) people seem to think, at Gamestop's prices for used copies it's better to pay the little extra for new. I don't like handing out money to big companies either due to their attitude towards us but at least they've done something to earn that money unlike game stores.

Free DLC for new copy buyers would be good but this feels more like removing functionality from those buying it used. Oh wait, they would limit their rip-off capabilities... Yeah, I'm not a big fan of DLC. I still remember when I didn't have to pay 2€ to get a skin or two but instead got ten for free in the game... And when withing a month of the game's release we didn't get a 5€ pack adding a game mode that should have been in the game in the first place.

Anyway, feel free to disagree. I'm sure you do. Just don't try to tell me my opinion is wrong and doomed, I've heard that so many times already. It only serves to make me angry.

I never said it was rip-off. I believe I said this is better than rip-off DLC.

EDIT: Actually I think I might still be getting a better deal by buying used :D If I don't like that game, I didn't pay nearly as much (unless I'm stupid and go to Gamestop), and if I do, I won't lose much more than buying new. In the long run, it ought to be better than buying everything new. Still, it will cost more than no online pass at all.
