There's not much more Nintendo can do to save it. It's finished for real this time. This will be the Wii's last decent Holiday, barring a DQX 2011 Holidays release (which I doubt, I still expect 2012). There's nothing more Nintendo can do, Wii's userbase is a dead userbase.

Taiko Wii 3 is slated for a December 2nd release if I'm not mistaken. The Wii will get by the holidays but after that it will be a barren wasteland for software in Japan. I don't see Zelda or The Last Story in the new year doing much of anything to be honest, I'm not sure when Earth Seeker releases but that will probably bomb, and as you say Dragon Quest X is still far off.

God only knows what Nintendo are going to do about this.

Earth Seeker's this holiday, but yeah I'm not expecting much (like 100k max, and even that's probably too generous).  The game probably would've done well had it come last holiday though, and followed up on the MH3 hype directly.

I think TLS will do marginally better than Xenoblade (say 200k-ish), Taiko 3 will probably decline from Taiko 2 similarly as it did from Taiko 1 (so say 300k-ish) and Zelda SS I'd peg somewhere around half a million.  DQX really is Wii's last hope, and probably it's only future million seller (unless by some miracle DKCR does it, which I doubt).
