I dunno, I think it'd kinda turn out like console Monster Hunter, or console Animal Crossing... the games are just better suited to handheld play, and thus sell dramatically better there.
I think a "real" Pokemon for Wii would probably top out around just 2m-2.5m. It'd "help" for sure, but I don't think it'd be able to turn things around on it's own. And really, Wii's issue isn't the big sellers (Nintendo has that more than covered), it's the medium and lower tier filler from 3rd parties that's missing and ultimately dragging the system down. And worse, bringing that content now probably wouldn't even save Wii, the console really needed that content back in 2007 (when PS360 were getting it instead)...
