Plus, those 3 discs had very compressed CGI cutscenes. If they hadn't been so compressed, like on the PS3 version, than it probably would have required 4-5 discs. The way Nomura puts it, it seems he is only making this for the PS3 so that it will be an optimized experience for his vision. If there is a port, it will almost 100% be guaranteed that it will be handled by another SE team, or maybe even outsourced to an outside team. This will definitely result in a worse port than FF13 turned out to be. If FF13 really showed me anything, it's that it going multi-plat only divided the audience it formally had, as opposed to bringing in new gamers. I mean according to VGC, FF13 has only sold 4.3 mil units (with Wiki saying it has shipped 5.75 mil). Just going by shipment numbers, that's just on par with the previous installment that was only on the PS2. It's also 2.2 mil less than what FF10 sold (according to VGC) on just the PS2, and that launched on a smaller install base. With the extra time and money it must have cost to create the 360 port, it doesn't seem like it payed off. |
No those discs had poorly compressed scenes. Not to mention the fact that the first two discs of the 360 version of FFXIII had 1GB of of unused space each. I'm not saying that VsXIII on 360 would be identical to the PS3 version but if Treyarch can port CoD4 to Wii, I think VsXIII can be ported to 360.
