I wish they would make public how much it cost for 2 Xbox 360 DVDs vs. 1 PS3 Blu-Ray.  A Blu-Ray disc is more expensive than a dual-layer DVD so it would come down to Microsoft's licensing fee on a second disc.

Blu-rays were $1.60 back in 2006 or $0.064 per gigabyte. It is reasonable to suppose they are some $1.00 to produce now, $0.04 per GB. Dual-layered DVDs cost $0.30 or about $0.038 per GB.

Now that's a huge difference. Seems like totally worth it to have 3 DVDs instead of a single BD and spare six tenths of a cent!

It's not like companies pay per gigabyte, they pay per disc so it doesn't matter the cost per GB.  It's not like Sony will charge one company 1/5 the price that they charge another if they used that that much less space.  I'm just curious about how close the actual cost of pressing 2 Xbox 360 game discs compared to 1 PS3 Blu-Ray discs.  Or if Sony charges the same amount for 1 PS3 Blu-Ray as Microsoft charges for 1 Xbox 360 Dual-Layer.
