| gergroy said: So, I was thinking the other day after reading one of the news articles that VGChartz needs a new job. Someone to go over articles, reviews and what not and check for grammatical or factual errors. Most of the writers and staff members are pretty good, but no matter how good you are, errors are going to get through and that is why a lot of major web sites and publications have another person go over their work before it is submitted. What do you think? Good Idea? I think it would go a long way in helping VGChartz look more professional. |
I'm one of the jerks that edits pretty much everything but reviews (news, features, editorials, sales articles). I'm sorry we've failed you.
Like Kantor said, news is time-sensitive so it gets published really quickly. Same thing with sales articles. If I can find the mistakes before the news goes live, I edit it then, but if I'm say... asleep (can't edit 24/7 for an international crew of writers in different time zones with different first languages and different levels of English fluency), I copy edit everything after I wake up or when I get home from work or school.
But thanks for pointing out the crappy job I do. Now I'm gonna go cry into my Count Chocula and commit seppuku. Or maybe I'll just punch one of the writers the next time I see them, probably some time next year. Naw... that'll take too long. Seppuku it is.
