I constantly wonder how the video game industry can handle all these flops. This week was particularly bad. Castlevania and Enslaved both had pretty terrible week 1 outings.
The biggest flop of the week has not been discussed yet in this thread:
Defjam Rapstar-- this game sold less than 10,000 on both 360 and PS3. Ouch. Too bad because that game actually had a cool concept and half-way decent reviews.
2nd biggest flop of the week- NBA Jam on Wii @ about 20,000 units sold. Either this game wasn't so popular to begin with for the Wii, or people are retalliating against EA for not including online. I automatically tuned this game out once I heard it will be released for 360 w/online modes.
Honorable mention flop was Kingdom Hearts Recoded for DS @ about 95,000 sold in Japan.
The Wii is doing very badly right now, especially if Wii Party isn't making a dent in the West. Metroid: Other M is also performing very sluggishly. If Nintendo's own 1st party offerings aren't selling anymore, the Wii may face a difficult year in 2011. The Wii needs some new blood to re-infuse their game catalog. Hopefully Kirby, Mickey, and Donkey Kong can fill in that gap.
Most anticipated games of 2011:
Uncharted 3,Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Rocksmith
Modern Warfare 3, Super Mario 3D
