I would say no I mean really look at the current smart phone market ATM. Models are refreshed about once a year or two with more powerful hardware, SONY probably won't want to do this as, if they focus on high end games as early models will eventually not be able to play new games. And if they don't the PSPhone will soon fall behind the competition in specs and features.
But iOS is already losing market share so maybe if apple pull another iPhone external antenna fiasco and android continues to improve and windows phone 7 turns out to be great, the iPhone might not be the big enemy any more as chinks are starting to appear in the iPhone brand.
