The unexpected happens frequently and teams like Milwaukee, Tampa, Colorado, Minnesota, Arizona, and Florida have proven it doesn't take money to win. Of the the nine highest payrolls in baseball, seven did not make the playoffs this year. Since 2000 though, the NFL and NBA however have both seen at least one team winning three championships in that time. Both run with their socialistic rule. Also, baseball has revenue sharing to help keep small market teams alive. Yeah, the Pirates and Royals both suck, and you could use them as examples, but they might not even exist without revenue sharing at this point. And one last point, baseball has half the playoff spots as football or hockey, so yes, less teams make the playoffs. Be for salary caps all you want, but please don't use baseball as an example if you don't watch the sport. |
Ahem... Not to stray further off topic, but I just wanted to say GO ROCKIES!!!!! Shame we completely choked in the World Series the first time we made it. I'd been waiting for years for us to get there and win. At least we accomplished half of that.

I don't really hate anyone. Though I do have an extreme dislike for people who cut me off while I'm driving...
