Well, who buys Nintendo systems for third parties?

I own a Wii because I couldn't enjoy gaming without the first party games coming from Nintendo. And this gen, Nintendo had a stellar first party lineup. Mario has been especially fantastic on the Wii. Well, we dreamt for ages to get a Donkey Kong along with 3D and 2D Metroid games, 2 Mario in 3D, one Mario in 2D, Kirby, Zelda, Punch-Out, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros...

People are always seeking for something new, and that's great. But you know what is greater? When you find something new in innovation. That's all about what the Wii is. It is just about fun. It throws out the pathetic graphics concept in the bin and scream: We'll rock your socks with good old reborns and beloved series!!!

My god, DK, guys! DK! It's an event in itself, since it has been so many years since the last real DK country game!

Nintendo has been exceptionnal this generation. All the Mario galaxies, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, even NSMB blows out of the water the old classics.

And looking for new IPs, Wii just got plenty! Of course, they are not blockbusters, but when do blockbusters mean quality? Try Muramasa, Dead Space, World of Goo... try them!

Amen to that. It really irks me when people say Wii has no good games, or very few. The people that say that usually mean "few blockbusters" because they seem to believe the amount of hype/advertising a game gets dicates its quality, when this is not the case at all. Wii has tons of hidden gems that despite little or no hype, are still great games: Zack and Wiki, Muramasa, De Blob, World of Goo, Lost Winds, Little King's Story, Trauma Center, Dawn of Discovery, Red Steel 2, Tiger Woods, Boom Blox, Sin and Punishment, Madworld, House of the Dead: Overkill, Resident Evil: UC, etc..

The Wii just can't catch a break from the "hardcore gamer" audience. Even many of the gamers who are open enough to try the more niche games on the PS3 or Xbox 360 (ie. the weeaboos) snob the Wii. A gamer doesn't have to buy a Wii if they don't want to. Just don't go spewing ignorant shit about it. If someone already has a preconceived notion about Nintendo, they're not going to bother or care about doing research on the Wii or DS or even listen when you name drop a bunch of Wii or DS titles. They're just going to assume Nintendo = kiddie = it sucks.
