I actually saw this and Dirge as miking, I'm not a big fan of the way Square is using FF VII.

I personally believe Final Fantasy on its own to be a milked franchise. It really doesn't matter if it has IV, VII, X, XII or XIII or any other number attached to it.

Isn't just creation of a franchise milking? As well as it's purpose... to be milked :D.
And I love franchises, particularly FF(My favorite one).

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the games but having more than 2 games released a year with "final fantasy" in the title is a bit much. :P

But then it kind of fits with Mario And Pokemon, at which I'd agree.
Though I don't think frequency is a bad thing, because if I get bored of the franchise... I pick it up later, and it's cheaper by then :P. except in FFXIV's case in which it wasn't ready to be released then it's a bad thing.
Plus a lot of fans are complaining about versus not being released as well... >_>.
