Oh yeah, and that is a budget CPU, but it's a quad core 3.1ghz CPU so will a different CPU really give me that much of an improvement in gaming, which is usually GPU based anyway? Plus with an aftermarket cooler and that mobo, wouldn't I be able to overclock that cheap CPU and get some really good performance for the price?

Is it worth "downgrading" to the dual core i5 unlocked which can reach amazing clock speeds, but is an extra 100 bucks?

As for the i7's, they are great, but overpriced. They never lower the price, even as their quality vs AMD is getting narrower. The triple channel ram is a gimmick really isn't it?

Also, with that mobo, do I have to install the DDR3 in a special way. I've heard something about "only use the white slots" or something. Can I not drop 4 2gb modules of 999 latency 1666mhz ram in there and get the full benefit?
