I think that statement pretty much disproves itself. If there are MORE atheists, how can atheism be in-decline? That actually shows they are increasing. They are only decreasing relative to religious populations.

Well any belief/religion is going to increase its numbers solely based on population growth.  But for truth growth, you would have to have the percentage among the world's population growing as well, which isn't the case.
