As to a system seller, while it didn't give any big push (after all it's a sequel of a game that most people who were interested in already had a Wii), I am certain that without it numbers would have been worse. Its not doing fine, it'll probably be outsold by NSMB Wii this holiday as well.
And of course it sold less than NSMB is a reason its a flop and should have never been made
No because then its resources could have gone to actual system selling games
Unlikely, Zelda games haven't sold consoles in a long, long time
