I didn't get to play a lot lately because I had to rest a bit after a buccal surgery, but I got back to the game tonight and finally finished Chapter 2.  The game keeps getting better and better (and harder and harder O_o).

The second Titan battle was absolutely epic.  I don't care the ressemblance to Shadow of the Colossus or God of War, what it borrowed from any games, Lords of Shadow does it its own way extremely well!

The game keeps on impressing me with its visuals (it is REALLY not very far from God of War III and Uncharted 2's levels!  Think: God of War III with colors!), score and battle system. If you really think it's just a button masher, and play it as such like Disolitude does (seriously, wtf?), then you're not going to fare well on the higher difficulty levels.

The story is also starting to get intriguing, with some nice twist at the end of Chapter 2.  This game is very long and challenging.  And it seems to me like it's going to have some decent amount of replay value, judging from the fact that you can redo any Chapters you want while keeping your current character status (all upgrades and the likes) to try to achieve the extra "Trials" and find hidden items and add-ons.  Which makes me think I may be giving myself an unnecessary headache by doing my first playthrough on the Knight difficulty level.  I think the game was intended to have the players "scale" the difficulty levels as their character grow stronger through experience and relic upgrades throught the normal course of the game.

So far, the game is starting to really make me feel like I will end up liking it much more than God of War 2 or 3.  Which are my 2 favorite games in that genre so far.  That in itself is quite an achievement in my book.

Finally, I may not be very far in the game, but judging from what I've experienced so far, I just can't understand the score that IGN gave to this game.  Right now, the game is locked at a 9 for me.  It could very well change for the worse or the better as I keep playing, but I have no doubts that the game will only grow better from here on out.

Highly recommended would be an understatement.

Now, if you'll excuse me, there's a Warg waiting for me.

Excuse the language but I don't know what IGN had stuck up their ass that day they reviewed this game. I've been playing the heck out of it and just passed Chapter 8. Let me just say the boss battles get more and more epic and there is a lot more platforming and puzzle solving to come your way. This game is easily a 9. I'm probably at least 13-14 hours in, probably more, and still have 4 chapters to go. Playing straight through this is a 20 hour game no way around it. Enviroments have not repeated once in the past 14 hours. That is truly amazing. The variety of enemies is stunning and the character design is possibly the best I've ever seen in a game. Being an artist myself I can truly appreciate the artwork too. This game is awesome and I will be playing it through again when I beat it to beat all the trials, explore everything, and beat the hardest level.
