Damn, those are some disastrous sales, for Wii especially but also for every console bar the 360. It's looking more and more likely that PS3's peak was in fact 2009 (or alternatively the 12 month period starting October 2009).
New hardware is a phoney solution for Nintendo. Any new hardware would need a glout of new software to support it, and system selling software is what Wii has lacked. The hardware itself is unnecessary in this equation, once we let go of the naive idea that more powerful hardware will lead to better 3rd party support. The only thing that will is an absence of the two-console dynamic between MS and Sony.
