Plenty of sunken cities etc. out there.
massive flooding and rise of sea level occurred ~10000 years ago during global warming at the end of the last ice age.
this would have occurred relatively gradually and in many different places at different times depending on factors such as the thickness of the ice, latitude, and how much water (if any) was trapped beneath the sheets. certainly it would not have happened all at once.
where else did all the water from massive ice sheets like the North American ice sheet go?
not sure how much of it to take with a pinch of salt though but the fact of sunken cities remeins.
