NetFlix pays the movie distributers (Publishers) and in Canada their are many different distributers. Many distributers here are not the same as those in the US, though for the most part they are. But I think NetFlix might have problems securing the Canadian rights. Being a seperate country with seperate laws and such this could complicate things.
Distribution rights in Canada are different then in America. The copy right laws also differ. Do American's even have Alliance Atlantis? A major Canadian distributer.
I just hope that NetFlix is able to boost their Canadian service if it indeed is much better in the US (Streaming only). I'm sort of suprised that NetFlix didn't get some higher ranking titles on the Canadian service before launching it. I can only imagine how popular the service would be with titles like Get Him to the Greek or Iron Man 2.
