A handheld device isn't the same as a home device, period. If you said are handhelds "portable" consoles, then that's different. But a PS3 isn't a PSP. A Wii isn't a DS. The markets are different, the puposes are different, the games are different. Sure, the devices have similarities, but they aren't the same.

Regardless, this will just go in circles as a debate. So, it's pointless.

No it's still a Goddam console.  CONSOLE you know an electronic device designed to play and interchange video games... which both portables and home consoles do, they're both subsets, portable is a subset and home is a subset...  It's like calling a cell phone not a phone cause it's not a LAN line it's still a goddam phone!
