I don't get why everyone loves to see Wii fail. Wii was beginning to bring gaming to the masses and make gaming seem "cool" and not nerdy. With the HD consoles on top, the nerd image will only be reinforced :(

I agree but it's not everyone .Ever since the wii started selling amazingly there is a ceratin stable of fanboys that has been furious with that fact but i won't mention which one.

you agree? Are you kidding me... the Wii was bringing gaming to the masses and making gaming seem cool? Do you live in another dimension? What the fuck did the PS2 AND PS1 do then? Sell over a hunderd million consoles to nerds and gamers only?

Actually the answer to that is a general (with some exceptions of course) yes. Oh people bought them, but (and here of course I am generalizing) for the nerdy part of the family, whether it was their kid or themselves. But (again, generalizing) you didn't have the family flock around the machine, using it as a way for the family to spend time together. You bought a TV for the family, you didn't buy a PSx for the family but for someone in the family.
