I'll never understand why people are always and forever discussing 3rd party support on Nintendo systems.
I for one don't care and I take any system for what it is and what it has to offer.
Even if only Nintendo games would be released on Nintendo systems, I'd most probably buy the system unless I get tired of franchise repetition (and no, I'm not a fanboy, I come from PC gaming and the GameCube was my first console).
By the way: I more and more doubt that most of the people who discuss this topic on forums (i.e. the "core" gamers) - and I don't only mean this thread - would buy more 3rd party games on a Nintendo console even if they were more content with 3rd party support,
e.g.
- F1 2009 on Wi: 700.000 copies LTD - not bad, but F1 2010 on PS3/360 sold 420.000 copies in week one in Europe alone
- Silent Hill: Shattered Memories: 280.000 copies (Wii), Red Steel 2: 290.000 copies, No More Heroes 2: 180.000 copies
Also: As ususal in these threads Wiiware 3rd party support is completely ignored (World of Goo, Lost Winds, Cave Story, NyxQuest, Castlevania Rebirth, Contra Rebirth, Mega Man 9/10, Tales of Monkey Island, Tetris Party, Art of Balance, Jett Rocket, Final Fantasy CC...).
How many of the people who complain about missing 3rd party suppprt will for example ever take notice of this game: http://fast.shinen.com/ - let alone buy it. FAST Racing League was just announced, but once it's released and once we (hopefully) get some sales figures it will provide another interesting answer to the evergreen question "do core Wii owners even buy the games they always demand?"
