it hasnt taken off like some expected because its not as big as it used to be and the wait probably lost fans. Though im sure itll do great but i belive itll be the lowest selling console GT. lawl!!!!

Yeah, I remember when MGS4 was going to be the lowest selling Metal Gear Solid title, or when God of War III would crawl to 2.5 mill but not much more.
Well i never said it wouldnt be huge im just saying it wont sell like the others. also theres like a three year difference between god of war 2 and god of war 3 I believe while GT4 came out in 2005 and Gt5 is releasing in 2010 which is a 5 year difference. Though i guess since theres a 4 year difference between metak gear 3 and 4 i cant really use that excuse accurately lol im just saying.
But what makes that apparent?
Based on how other games have sold on the ps3 and how the preorders are looking I guess.
What other games? Big PS2 franchises have sold on par or better on PS3. Few exceptions - Ratchet for instance. But God of War, Metal Gear Solid, and GT5:P have all proven that the PS3 can still push big PlayStation franchises, and the Prologue is the highest selling PS3 exclusive at this point, with MGS4 right behind it.
The pre-orders haven't told me much of anything other than this will be a game with legs, as GT always is.
Wait im saying that no game on the ps3 has had sales as close to the gran turismos on ps2 even gta 4 on ps3 couldnt manage half of what san andreas did on ps2 i belive. Im not saying it wont sell huge amounts im saying it wont sell like the others and the legs probably wont be as awesome as previous gran turismos. I mean i highly doubt it beats mw2s sales. And how have the pre-orders told you that the game will have legs? i mean iim sure it will but the preorders tell you that?
GTA IV couldn't manage on PS3 what San Andreas managed on PS2 for a number of reasons, but the largest and most relevant being that is was multiplatform. Not only that, but multiplatform from day 1, also a distinct difference from past GTA titles where the PlayStation enjoyed a year of exclusivity, and GTA IV would have sold numerous PS3s had it been exclusive. Therefore, Gran Tursimo 5 and GTA IV have little to nothing in common.
Also, Modern Warfare 2 is a rare case. Games on neither the PS3 nor 360 sell like that, unless of course, it's Halo or Gran Turismo, outside of Call of Duty.
With the Prologue sitting at 5 million right now (mind you, it was in the top 50 just this past week - it's been on the market for 2 years), I doubt GT5 will sell anything less than 9-10 mill, which is what GT sells. The pre-order numbers in one region tell me nothing of GT5's life, except that it will likely sell 500-750K in the States week 1 and leg it's way to 2 million.
unless of course, it's Halo or Gran Turismo hmmm well gran turismo will have to prove that statement for this generation. also vgchartz has prologue at 3.8 million i think where is the extra 1.2 million coming from not saying your wrong I just dont see the sales. okay you expect gt5 to leg its way to 2 million in america and lets say it sale a million in japan you expect europe to make up for the rest of those sale and reach 9-10 million total? sounds ridiculous dude.
Also GTA and Gran turismo have plenty in common there both games that wont/havent reach sale of their previous main iterations and being multiplatform isnt an excuse I said half the sales of san andreas which evens the playing field lol.

Considering where the Prologue sits, I don't think it'll have much trouble "proving" anything. And, the extra GT5:P sales are from downloads, which VGC doesn't track.
GTA and GT have plenty of differences, so there aren't any excuses. The situations of the PS3 & GT5 in 2010 and GTA IV & PS3 of 2008 are already enough of a difference. Nevermind that GT is exclusive and has a Prologue that sold better than many games on the market.
9-10 mill doesn't sound ridiculous at all, not in regards to Gran Turismo. Plus, unless of course you're also calling ioi's prediction ridiculous as well, he too calls for 9-10 mill for GT5. Pay attention to the series and you'll understand where the predictions come from. Then again, many people like you didn't in regards to plenty of other franchises that served plates of crow, so I'll let the numbers do the talking when they come in.
