I agree that Nintendo should be releasing Wii 2 next year, however their is really no evidence that another console is in the works at this point.  No specs out there.. no development kits, no product announcement leaks etc.

When I say "Nintendo is on death's door" i am referring to the fundamentals of the company and Wall Street's perception of the stock.

Their earnings peaked in FY08 at  280M Yen... and now they are tracking to 90MYen.  I am not confident that the 3DS will be enough to offset weakness in NDS and Wii next year...  I do think with a Wii 2 and 3DS in the market they can stabilize earnings and start to grow again.

Basically, If the Wii doesn't come next Holiday it may be another tough year for Nintendo.

You're talking about the same Wall Street that didn't realize the credit default swap market could crash as terribly as it did.  I don't think their perceptions count for much.

Look at it this way - most of the big name video game companies have been putting up numbers in the negatives and none of them have a product as big as the 3DS on the horizon.  Nintendo has absolutely nothing to worry about.  They aren't on death's door, their still standing head and shoulders above every other video game company in the world and making it look easy.
