They won't even get it next gen.

N64- Cartridges are too expensive and N64 is too hard to make games for.

GC- Userbase is too small; discs don't hold enough space.PS2 is king.

Wii- Userbase is too large; graphics aint strong enough; we cannot compete with Nintendo/nintendo should make games to expand "xxxxxx-genre's" userbase.

Wii2- We cant compete with Nintendo games, too expensive to make HD games; userbase is too large.

Nintendo cannot and will not ever win. Deep down inside, everyone knows they make better games more frequently than any other 3rd party and no one wants to side with that...except Warren Spector lol.

I disagree. I am not interested in any of Nintendo's games.

None? I'm not only talking about the Wii...you trying to tell me nothin they make on the DS appeals to you either?

Well, from the DS I am not interested in any Nintendo game, but I wrote too fast because I do would like to play NSMBW. XD I love 2D Mario but could never get into 3D Mario. But really, I can't agree with you. I guess we could say that there is more or less a tie between Sony and Nintendo releasing the major number of AAA titles but discussing about "better" games is somthing quite subjective, don't you think?

Yea, I'm not a big 3D Mario fan either to tell you the truth; Super Mario World is my all-time favorite. Ive never finished a 3D Mario. SM64 seems like the only one I would want to... (flameshield UP!)

Subjective? Maybe. However, Nintendo has one awards for like, best run company and has often topped the best Dev lists. I know sales don't equal quality, but when you can get 10 games to sell 10 million (which they will do... eventually) you have to be good. When you have 3 TWENTY million selling titles (MK, WF, soon to be WSR) you are most likely the best.

I personally think Nintendo's dedication to detail and quality assurance is unmatched which is what makes them the best. You only hear people say, "I only buy Nintendo games." No one ever says that for a 3rd party. Sony & MS, maybe sometimes.

Then I guess I am not alone in this World. :D I know Nintendo is good at what they do, problem is I am not that interested at what they are doing right now. But a lot of people are, and that is reflected in sales.

I am sorry but I can't determine quality by number of sales. However, I know that Nintendo's games are very polished and exceed in their categories so I can say that Nintendo is one of the best first party developers out there. However, personally I prefer Sony with their approach and with their games that appeal more to my taste.

I love Sony and their games but I would never be able to say that I only buy Sony games. I can't argue about those people you have heard saying that they only buy Nintendo games because I don't know them, and I don't know their especific circumstances. But I think that maybe a great part of the differences in sales between Nintendo first party and third party sales can strive from some factors. I think that a lot of gamers in Wii's userbase (as they may exist in every console's) like games which are easy to pick up, have immediate fun with and that may not be able to or need to dedicate as much time to games as other gamers (like myself) dedicate to videogames. Speaking about the latter, I wouldn't be surprise that someone who buys Wii Sport and plays it once a week, or even rarelier, get to last more time playing that single game before he/she gets tired of it and finally finds the need of buying another game. I think that this, combined with the good advetizement of Nintendo, their appeal to these gamers, the quality of their games, the easy to pick up and play nature of their games, among other factors is what makes Nintendo sale most of their games as succesfully as they have been selling.

But I think that the appeal of Nintendo's games is very important to the success they have in sells. Nintendo enjoys a very successful image of being a family oriented videogame developers and their characters represent that image. I really wonder if Nintendo with their dedication to detail and quality assurance would secure the same sells of, to put a reasonable sales goal, Nintendo Galaxy 2 if they make a survival horror videogame.

To me Sony and even Microsoft put a lot of quality in their videogames, I put my hands on the fire for Sony and their first party studios with their quality, development and testing of their games, and to me the reason of why Nintendo sells more this generation than the competition is mainly because they appeal to more people than the competition.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:
