Anything farther in the future and we're into the Nextbox timeframe I believe. The gap means less and less as we hypothetically travel through time anyway. They are both poised to sell truckloads of software without worrying about userbase too much. This is all without knowing what will actually happen with Move and Kinect, future price cuts and boosts from particular IPs. so it's a pretty rough guesstimate obviously. It depends mostly on which co. is focused more on profit and who wants the silver medal. |
I agree with some of what you said, but Sony has been rumored to be burning the midnight oil to try and get their "next gen" console out alittle before MS does.. they dont want to be behind again.. What did the PS2 have in common with the PS3? NOTHING, it came out 1.5 years before the Gamecube and nearly TWO WHOLE years before the Xbox.. when you come out 1st you're more likely to lead if you have developer support..
Lastly Sony's PS3 is 120 million game units behind the Xbox 360 ... thats nearly 9 billion dollars.. they are in last place.. and that means they need their new better console faster, they can't hope it sells games like the PS2 which was the #1 seller last gen, because the PS3 will not do the same thing as the PS2 was able to and this is clear..
