I would place the higher likelihood of the 3DS releasing November 21, 2011 than November 21, 2010. Here is the list of NA release dates the OP discontinued before the Gamecube

Nintendo

  • October 18, 1985

Super Nintendo

  • Released  August23, 1991

Nintendo 64

  • Released September 29, 1996

Nintendo Gamecube

  • Released November 18, 2001

Nintendo Wii

  • Released November 19, 2006

Nintendo has discussed a Spring 2011 launch. I will hold them to it, but I will not be surprised if they delay the NA 3DS launch until holidays 2011.

From the list, in further discussion, the life span of Nintendo consoles averages between 5 and 6 years. Sony has hinted at wanting this current generation to last 10 years, but that may be wishful thinking as the historical evidence is against this "want." From the evidence, don't be surprised if Nintendo announces the Wii successor at E3 2011, which would make the Wii the longest living Nintendo console if the Wii 2 releases in 2012.

That seems more like an arguement for the next nintendo console. This is a portable, which is  completely different ball park.
