I agree with BioShock and GeoW. Those 2 along with Uncharted, WarHawk and CoD4 are definetely the best games available on next-gen consoles. Can't agree with ME and Halo 3, they are not that impressive. ME is full of technical issues and it's boring while Halo 3 is just another Halo and I never liked the franchise at all.

But I feel sad that Uncharted and WarHawk are not on the 360 since I know lots of people would love those games. Also I wish BioShock and GeoW were on the PS3 (I played BioShock on the PC and GeoW on the 360).

WarHawk is pretty impressive, 32 players online at 60 FPS with very large maps. I dare anyone that likes online shooters to try it and tell me it's not an awesome game. All my friends that are Halo fans love it.

Crumas2, you should buy a PS3. I bet you would love Uncharted and WarHawk. 360 is doomed anyway, j/k ;)

I understand that you don't like Halo, but there are millions of people who do like Halo, myself included, so this doesn't convince me I need a PS3.  I've been to many all-night Halo parties with guys from work, and I never get tired of it.  The last Halo party I went to was exclusively Halo 3, and everyone thought it was great.  4-way split screen on HDTVs at the higher resolution made it much easier to see enemies from a distance, etc., watching great frags via the Theater mode had everyone just about rolling on the floor laughing, and we've just starting tapping the potential of the Forge.  We're all looking forward to the next party.  So, I guess I'm sorry to hear that you don't enjoy it.  The rest of us are having a blast.

It would be great to have Uncharted on the 360, but Warhawk doesn't excite me, primarily because I'm not into flying games (yeah, and the rest of you guys are having a blast... .  I'm not good at flying games, and I eventually get motion sickness.  If this wasn't the case, I would definitely buy Ace Combat 6 on the 360.  I've played around with it and the visuals are impressive and the story is great IMHO.

But here are the reasons why I have no intention, at this time, of purchasing a PS3 (this might change in time):

1. Price.  We already have a 360, a Wii, and a PS2.  Convincing the wife that we need to spend money on a 4th console would be quite a challenge, particularly at $500.  I *might* have a shot at it if Sony hadn't dropped BC on the $400 unit, but there's no way we can get a PS3 if it doesn't play the PS2 games so we can eliminate a console.  Thanks Sony.

2. Space.  The 360 and Wii live in our entertainment center in the living room along with our HDTV, Sat. receiver, audio receiver, etc.  Adding another component the size of the PS3 just isn't going to work and we just bought the entertainment center...

3. Weak games lineup.  Other than Resistance and Uncharted, there isn't much exclusive to the PS3 that I want (I'm not into driving games so GT and Forza, etc. just don't interest me).  I know I'm probably going to get flamed for saying that the PS3's lineup is weak.  The funny part is it will likely be from the same guys who say the PS3 is going to break into a full run in 2008 because no AAA or even AA titles have been released yet.  LOL!  I like FPS games quite a bit, particularly ones with split screen, and there isn't much available or coming that I know of on the PS3 (when one of the guys at work complained about this, I set out to prove him wrong, and found out I was wrong instead, except for Haze which has been delayed).

4. Poor design decisions.  Yes the 360 has the dreaded RROD, and I feel fortunate that it hasn't bitten me in the 18 months I've had a 360 (probably because I have an auxiliary cooling fan on my 360 that blows air through it, and I've added a cooling fan to my entertainment center to vent heat from the 360).  But I didn't know about the RROD when I bought my 360, and I'm very happy with the system so far.  Sony, on the other hand made some decisions that I don't care for, either.  First off, 2 of the 3 engineers in my department who own PS3s have stopped playing Resistance Online because they're tired of the PS3 wireless controllers freezing at times when the WIFI and Bluetooth interfere with each other.  I would have the same problem unless I started cutting holes from upstairs to downstairs to run an ethernet cable.  Sony should have realized that WIFI and Bluetooth share part of the same spectrum.  I really dislike using wired controllers and having people trip over the cords, so this isn't a good option for me.  Also, Sony made a really poor design decision when they built the rechargeable batteries into the wireless controllers instead of following the 360 design.  Pop off the dead battery pack and pop on a fresh one from the recharging tree.  I know it costs a little more that way, but I'm willing to shell out the extra $30 bucks to have this convenience.  The option just isn't there for the PS3.  Built in Blu-ray.  Yeah, everyone with a PS3 thinks this is great.  On the other hand, I already have the HD-DVD drive and quite a few movies (absolutely had to have the Matrix).  If Blu-ray ends up winning the war, then I will wait until either a cheap dual-format player is available or until standalone Blu-ray players can be purchased for less than $150 (which will replace my DVD/VHS player).  People who have PS3 could do the same, i.e. - buy a standalone HD-DVD player if any title they wanted never ended up on Blu-ray, but a current PS3 will never have the ability to play anything but Blu-ray.  I'm hoping MS will release a dual-format drive for cheap for the 360 so I can use one unit to play both.  Again, just not an option with the PS3.

So, as you can see, there isn't just one reason why I won't be buying a PS3 anytime soon.  It's a great machine except for the battery pack, WIFI/controller interference, Blu-ray only, and limited games library issues.  All the other considerations have to do with my particular situation.
