Well let's continue with facts, not with how you like to interpret things...  - 2 weeks later (as in 3 months after the game has come out), a Destructoid interview with Seth Killian: http://www.destructoid.com/capcom-talks-the-vs-series-past-present-and-future-172108.phtml

"[Tatsunoko Vs Capcom] certainly beat the initial expectations. It didn't set any land speed records, but it was a success."

As to future support, given their track record that won't necessarily show how happy they were. RE 4 was a success and so was Umbrella Chronicles, they claimed Umbrella was supposed to be a test case for future full featured RE on the Wii, yet the only thing that happened eventually was yet another on rails RE, and that after the Wii has been skipped over with the "real" RE version (RE5). So no.

Bear in mind, I didn't say TvC bombed. Safe bet it wasn't a financial blow for Capcom. I just don't think Capcom is happy with the numbers. They tested the Wii's water, the response was very modest.

Here's the thing about RE4. How much do you think it cost them to port it to the Wii? Probably very little. I imagine porting a game from the Gamecube to the Wii is a pretty simple job for developers.

Now porting RE5 to the Wii? That seems like a much more difficult job. More importantly, a much more expensive job. Hence, All the money they would have to spend in development surely means it'll be less profitable than RE4.

In a nutshell. Putting RE4 on the Wii was cheap. RE5 would be much more expensive, risky, and likely less profitable.

Now you're just reaching.

The profit margin between RE4 and RE5 is irelvant.  The fact that RE4 is the 2nd best selling single console Capcom title this generation says a lot (MH3 being number 1).   I failt to grasp how a reduced profit margin (yet still highly profitable overall) has any merit to ignoring a console.   The potential to gain millions is there.  If RE5 sold the same as RE4 on Wii, that's revenue of over $32 million.  I highly doubt it would cost more than $10 million to have put RE5 on Wii.
